BENECO Presents to TIPO

The Tadiangan Indigenous Peoples Organization (TIPO) of Tuba invited BENECO to their celebration of the Indigenous People’s Month celebration this October. Engr. Rocky Pallogan, the head of the Power Generation Department, together with Mr. Leonardo Belingon shared the highlights of the Memorandum of Agreement between BENECO and the IP’s of Buguias in relation to their benefits from the minihydro power project in their area last October 18, 2017 at the Tadiangan Open Court.

The mandatory benefits and additional benefits were discussed to enlighten the group led by their president ZaldyGuileng, in order for them to have an edge in dealing with their ancestral domains and its development particularly their rivers.

After the presentation and some clarifications, the TIPO unanimously agreed to request BENECO for a feasibility study to study the potentials of their rivers. Hopefully, the resolve of the TIPO will also be supported by the IPO of the Municipality of Tuba to include all the rivers within their domain.
