CHANGE OF COMMAND

Rocky Pallogan (L), turns over the full responsibility of continuing the construction of BENECO's 3MW mini hydro project in Buguias, Benguet to Artemio Bacoco (R) while Robert Apilis, the project's site engineer, approvingly looks on. The project's weir (right picture) is nearing completion

Bacoco assumes leadership on mini hydro project effective July 1, the change of command in the Power Generation and Operations Department takes place as Artemio Bacoco will now assume full responsibility as department manager vice Engr. Ricardo Pallogan who was recently appointed as department of the Non-Network Services Department.

Bacoco was the former Northern Sub-Area Department (NSAD) manager for almost eight years from 2007 to 2015 before the department was absorbed by the Network Services Department. The NSAD then served the municipalities of Bakun, Buguias, Mankayan, Madaymen, Kibungan and Atok. Bacoco was later reassigned as the project supervisor of PGOD from 2018 to 2020. He was tasked to supervise the construction of the 3MW Man-asok hydro power plant project.

As the head of the PGOD, Bacoco vowed to see the project’s completion. He said that while the project is behind its original schedule due to intervening factors, he will see to it that the project be finished and be operational.

The mini hydro project is the first renewable energy project of BENECO initiated by the former GM Gerardo P. Verzosa who was insistent that the project be pursued.
